April showers......

I made this for the Bugaboo Challenge Blog. Incorporate April showers to May flowers while using this fun sketch. If this doesn't say Spring, I don't know what does. The dress on this little chick has polka dots on it but because I wanted to paper piece this image - I printed it once then used white out to remove the polka dots. Then if you make a photo copy of that you can't tell (at all) that you used white out. So copy onto your patterned paper and cut away. Bugaboo images are perfect for paper piecing because they have thicker outlines for easy cutting. I also used dimentionals on the bow in her hair. Isn't she CUTE :-)

A sprinkle of Pixie Dust

Have you visited Pixie Dust Studio lately?
They have some NEW items.
CUTE, CUTE, CUTE
I just love this one of the father and son.
Perfect for Father's Day or even for a
favorite uncle.
And the cute little pea images - OMG.
I saw a balloon recently with a pea pod on it and
the sentiment was "Get Well Peas"
How cute is that???
The second card is entered in the Pixie Dust Challenge.

Thinking of you

I just love these circle frames from Bugaboo! They are so pretty. You know me, I'm kind of partial to circles (and butterflies). I printed this twice and cut some of the leaves out and added dimension with pop dots. I don't use purple enough.....

Just like Mom

Like pixies?
Then you need to check out Pixie Dust Studio!!
Isn't she adorable?
Saw her and thought......Mother's Day
Little girl playing dress up.......perfect!
I used flower soft on her boa. If you haven't seen this
product, you don't know what you're missing.
I used tiny pearls on the necklace and a flower and brad
on the hat. I embossed the lavender
paper with my cuttlebug and colored the centers.
Cut and colored the circle with my nesties.

Marriage Advise

My cousin is getting married this summer and I made this card for her wedding shower. The "kids" are Bugaboo images. I just love them. There is a bunch to choose from. Wedding, birthday, Christmas, etc. This is one of my favorite color combos. And this is a tri-shutter card. Tutorial here. There were cards inside the invitation asking you to write "marriage advice" to the couple. So I added a few words of wisdom on the card. The top middle part is a gift card holder.

Happy Father's Day

I absolutely adore this digital stamp!! When I saw this I thought it was absolutely perfect for my husband. He is the best Dad in the whole world. He is sooo patient with our son and literally teaches him everything he knows. They are like two peas in a pod. My son thinks my husband walks on water and I wouldn't have it any other way. This image is so perfect. Alex is always right there to grab whatever Scott needs at the time. He knows more tools than I could ever think of knowing. I plan to give this one to my hubby for Father's Day.

Calling all sistahs

Calling all Sistah’s!

The Digi Shack Design Team Call

It’s that time again where we are looking for a few fresh faces to join The Digi Shack.

If you LOVE digi’s you’ll love being part of our family! We are looking for new design team members. We’ve recently lowered our prices on our images to just $1 each to do our part in saving the world of paper crafter’s money! We are also adding a few new lines to our shop including some fabulous templates!

Open to:

U.S. and International English speaking applicants

Please read the following very carefully before submitting your application. It is very important that youfollow the directions as that too is part of the determining factor of you becoming a DT member

· 3 pictures of your VERY BEST work. Photos must be sized at 640x480. This can either be cards, layouts with pictures or altered items

· A paragraph (not a sentence) about you and why you want to be a Shack Sistah and what you will do to promote The Digi Shack.

· A clickable link to your blog

· A clickable link to your online gallery or galleries

· A list of clickable links to all Design teams you are on. It is favorable that you are not active on more than 3 design teams while you are with TDS.

What is expected of DT members?

If you are chosen to be a Shack Sistah you will be expected to:

· Complete weekly challenges and post to your blog on the challenge day(s).

· Post comments and photos on SNR and PCP and other social networking sites.(this means you will have to have a user account at SNR and PCP)

· You will also be required to leave comments on blogs for all of our TDS fans that participate in our challenges and your sistah’s blogs

· Participate in ALL TDS events where sufficient notice is given.

· It is not required but we encourage all DT members to submit their artwork to magazine publication at least once a month. A list of publications will be provided for you on the DT blog.

You will also be required to participate in Digi Day on SNR on the 1st Saturday of EVERY MONTH for your term.(this date is subject to change without notice) as well as our monthly Ustream live video feeds (you do not need to have a webcam but you do need to sign up for a free Ustream account so that you can participate in the live chats)

You must use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as your internet browser in order to view all of our images – both safer than IE and free to download. Our images are not always visible on IE. This does not mean if you use IE you have to delete it, you just need to use Firefox or Chrome while working with TDS images and blogs. You can have more than one browser installed on your computer and it should not harm or interfere with your system.

You must also know and understand how to use digital images. No special software is required but you must be able to print digital images in order to showcase them. Further, you must have a working knowledge of blogging software and understand the basic principles of inserting links, adding photos, etc.

A digital camera to photograph your work is required. No scanned images please.

You will be required to promote TDS by placing a clickable blog button on your blog. (This will be provided to you by TDS if you are chosen to be on the team)

You must have a blog that is updated at least 3 times a week.

You must be willing to commit to a 3 month term (June 1, 2010-Sept 1, 2010)

You will be required to check the DT blog daily to check for updates or new events. This is our main form of communication.

You must be willing to work under short notice. I am not a planner and more often than not, I plan things at the last minute.

Failure to comply with the above terms may result in termination with or without notice.

What do DT members get as part of being on the team?

You will receive free TDS images! This round we are doing things a bit different. Once selected as part of the DT you will receive 3 images of your choice to create with to announce your position on the team. Once I see that these three images are used you may choose 3 more and so on. I’ve found that if I freely give out images then they are not being used to showcase TDS. This isn’t just about getting free images, your position on the DT is to showcase and promote The Digi Shack. As long as you are creating with our images and showcasing them, you will receive all of your requested images. Please remember that this is a serious commitment and I expect that you treat it as such if you are chosen. Please do not apply if you can not commit.

Monthly we will be releasing new images and you will automatically be sent those images before the release date so that you can sneak peek those new arrivals. Those new releases do not count towards your images of choice.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Shack Sistah email your application with DESIGN TEAM in the subject line by May 15, 2010 – Any applications with anything more or less than DESIGN TEAM in the subject line will be disqualified.

Good luck!

Dippin' Dots on Paper Popsicles

The theme at Paper Popsicles this week is "stitches"
You must incorporate sewing in some way, shape or form
into your project. I stitched the exhaust from the car
for mine. This is the vacation car image from Paper Popsicles
but for this project, I didn't want the word vacation on there
so I used white out and erased it then copied it again and you'd
never know it was there. Ahhhh, the beauty of digital stamping.
I used my cuttlebug to add some texture to the background squares
then distressed them. So hurry over to
Paper Popsicles to link us (via Mr. Linky) to your blog for a
chance to "Get scooped"

Like a fish out of water without you

I love this fish from The Digi Shack.
I saw this sentiment somewhere and thought
"how perfect is this paper and fish"
Easy card to make. I just cut out the waves
added them to the paper card base and clipped a
paper clip in half for the hook. Colored the fish
to match and there you have it....
The fish is on pop dots to stand "OUT" a bit

Prairie Fairy DT Call

Prairie Fairy is having a DT Call. I'm having so much fun being on the other DT that I decided to give it a shot. They have adorable digi's like the one above. I used stickles on the wings to give it some bling. The little metal charm says "believe" on it. I cut this one and set it on the circle cut out to make it look like she's sitting on the circle. I love this color combo too. Stop over at the Prairie Fairy to get the details.

Digi Shack sketch challenge

Time for another sketch challenge at
I have always loved horses. They are so beautiful.
I took a masculine approach again this week.
Used the cuttlebug to emboss the green strip,
distressed it with sand paper
then inked it up a bit to make it look rugid.
Some twine and more distressing/inking
Voila, manly-ness (ha new word, just made that up).
So, get crackin' and make your card
then click over to The Digi Shack and
link up your masterpiece.

Dippin' Dots on Paper Popsicles

Well, it's Wednesday, have you submitted your link
at Paper Popsicles for "Birthday" week.
Pop over there and check out what
your challenge is.
While you're there get some really great
ideas from the awesome design team.
When I saw this patterned paper the digi image
of the girl with the cake was the first
thing that popped into my head.
I don't know why, it just.....suits her.
The paper is so bright and bold that I
made two cards with it.
I like the wavy lines to the patterns,
adds some interest.
